WTF Apps: Battery Girl(IOS)

Welcome once again to "WTF Apps", where I bring you yet another little app that I found when I got bored out of my mind and decided looking up stupid things on the app store was a funny idea(hint hint: It's not really that funny). Now, when it comes to electronic devices, some of the most common apps you will find are clocks, counters for events and, of course, performance related applications. "Battery Girl" is part of the third category, although it's got a bit more to it than just monitoring your device's performance.

I first found "Battery Girl" when I got bored and decided that looking up the term "Moe Girl" was going to be hilarious. 500 possible results later, I gave up about halfway through the search. Even so, this still brought up some good results as I found out about this cool application. "Battery Girl" is an app which monitors your device's battery life by using a super cute, battery obsessed girl as it's mascot(considering the weird stuff I've seen in the past, it isn't all that odd). The app's main mode simply has Battery Girl doing and saying various cute things depending on the percentage of your battery's power. It's a cute little idea, but honestly, it's just a pointless application that adds a layer of "cute moe girl goodness" between you and the percentage displayed for your device's battery life. However, there is something else that is well worth your time.

The app has a second mode, which involves an addicting virus-type game. In this mode, you are given energy equal to that of your current battery life. Your goal is to get as many points as you can get before you run out of in-game energy. The background is of the ever so cute Battery Girl, though sadly, that is the only background there is for the game part. The game is quite easy: every time a battery receives energy by wither being touched by you or the enrgy of another battery, it gains a bar. A battery with three bars that receives energy will explode, sending it's energy in four directions and adding it to the surrounding batteries. Green battery shoot energy in straight lines, while yellow ones shoot their energy diagonally. There is no real point for the game, although it's great whenever you have five or so minutes to kill.

Overall, the app isn't all that weird, with the only odd thing about it being the odd obsession Battery Girl seems to have with everyone's battery life. It's definitely something I recommend getting because of the fun virus game, so look into it whenever you can.
